Press release from the Mecklenburg County Government: 3/23/2022 Description1 County Welcomes New Assistant Health Director for Clinical Services Glenda Dancy recently joined the Mecklenburg County Health Department as the Assistant Health Director for Clinical Services. In her new role, Dancy will oversee the immunization, tuberculosis, travel, refugee and family planning clinics as well as the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP), STD/HIV testing and treatment, laboratory services, the pharmacy, dental services, and other ancillary services that support the clinics. Dancy brings over 18 years' experience in healthcare to the position, most recently serving as the Assistant Health Director and Director of Nursing for Forsyth County Public Health. In her tenure with Forsyth County Public Health, Dancy served in multiple roles, first serving as a Maternity Care Coordinator, eventually becoming the first African American Public Health Nursing Director in the Forsyth County Department of Public Health in 2014. When promoted to her most recent role as Assistant Public Health Director in 2016, Dancy used her experience as a mother, nurse and health care administrator to address gaps in institutional systems that prevented people from accessing needed healthcare and bring programs to the community to help those in need. Prior to her work in Forsyth County, Dancy served as a charge nurse in labor and delivery at Forsyth Medical Center for four years. Dancy received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Forsyth Technical Community college and her bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master of Health Administration degree from University of Phoenix. ### This press release was produced by the Mecklenburg County Government.
