Job Description Atascadero Christian Community offers inspired senior living through independent living, assisted living and memory care We have roughly 18 independent living cottages, 64 assisted living residents and a small memory care home. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who has passion, integrity, dedication and enjoys working with seniors. This is a detail-oriented, people-oriented and team-oriented position. Must be 18 or older Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background clearance Must be able to pass employment physical with TB test General Description: This position exists to maintain and repair the facilities of Atascadero Christian Community (ACC). Knowledge, skills and abilities required: • Possess a valid driver license, be 25 to 70 years of age, and have a good driving record in order to be covered by our automobile insurance. • Carpentry, plumbing and electrical experience. • Able to lift 50 pounds. • Take direction from others and then work alone to complete assignments. • Follow policies set forth in the employee handbook, including safety procedures. • Communicate and interact effectively with staff, vendors, and residents of retirement home. • Communicate verbally in English. • Work additional hours if needed during emergency situations, such as inclement weather and/or equipment failure. Essential functions: • Clean, repair, paint, etc. vacant units to ready them for occupancy. • Conduct routine maintenance to avoid costly repairs. • Respond to work orders from residents. • Other duties may include assisting with other maintenance and housekeeping as needed. • Work will be performed indoors and out of doors year-round. • Power equipment, pickup truck, trailer, tractor and other equipment associated with maintenance duties.
