SAN CLEMENTE, CA — After a temporary street sweeping parking enforcement respite, the city of San Clemente parking enforcement will go back into place later this month, officials say. The city of San Clemente temporarily suspended parking enforcement due to the COVID-19 Stay at Home order. "Due to the additional parking on City streets, the street sweeping crews were not able to be as effective as they normally would be," a spokesperson says. "This has resulted in an accumulation of leaves and other debris on City streets, with the potential to enter the storm drain system which drains directly to the ocean." As more businesses and activities open in Orange County and San Clemente, more residentsare returning to work. Throughout September, the City started providing warning notices to inform the publicthat the City was resuming enforcement. That day is at hand on Oct. 22. The Master Street Sweeping Schedule for San Clemente, lists the days and times for sweeping by street name, and contact information. Residents can sign up for courtesy street sweeping reminders by entering their phone or email address on this webpage.
