SAN CLEMENTE, CA — The polls are now closed in San Clemente. From San Clemente City Hall to the White House, Tuesday's election is crucial. Voters have marked their ballots for their chosen leaders, on tax measures, and proposals that will shape California for generations to come. Now that everyone's cast their votes, the question is: So who won? What passed or failed? The votes will be counted in the hours, days and even weeks ahead, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters. SCROLL TO FIND RESULTS for this race in real-time below. San Clemente looked to impose term limits on their city council members with measure Bb - which was leading with 78.14 percent of the vote at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. In San Clemente's City Council race, two seats were open for a broad field of candidates for the full term. As of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Chris Duncan was in the lead with 19.12 percent of the vote, with incumbent Gene James leading the vote for the second chair with 18.63 percent of the vote. Aaron Washington, Bill Hart, Charlie Smith held on, with Thor Johnson, Jeff Provance Jr., Jeff Wellman, Joseph Kenney and Patrick Minnehan trailing. San Clemente's City Council short term seat saw Seven Knoblock take the lead with 23.57 percent of the vote, followed by Jim Dahl at 21.34 percent. Donna Vidrine, who had an early lead with 22 percent of the vote, with Steven Knoblock following at 20.7 percent, fell to third as of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, with 19.38 percent. Tyler Boden, Zhen Wu, George T. Gregory, Laron Rush and Jerry Quinlan trailed in the race. City Clerk Joanne Baade ran unopposed, as did incumbent City Treasurer Mark A. Taylor.
