Job Description This is a dock to Class A driver position. This position starts on our dock where you work and learn dock operations, forklift training, and loading and unloading trailers. Then, after 90 days at our expense Peninsula will enroll you into local CDL school for training to obtain your Class A License. After successful completion of your training and obtaining your Class A License, you will begin our 8-week training program for new graduates with our driver trainer to become a Local Pick up & Delivery driver. Paid training is at $23.25 per hour. Once you receive your Class A CDL you will increase to qualified driver's union wage. Local Pickup & Delivery Drivers work M-F either day or swing shift driving a tractor/trailer combination delivering and picking up multiple shipments throughout the Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area. Leadership that respects and values you and the work you do Requirements for full scale P&D driver: Minimum 21 years of age Class A CDL Hazmat*, doubles/triples & tankers endorsement required within 90 days of hire *(company provided training to obtain Hazmat endorsement)* No violation of the following during the 36-month period prior to date of hire: Conviction of an "at-fault" accident Reckless driving in any motor vehicle License suspension or revocation for more than 30 days No violation of the following during the 60-month period prior to date of hire: DUI or reckless driving in any motor vehicle Familiarity with area and good communication skills are an asset
