Plans for ’22 for anyone who is interested in participating; those who can spread the word about these endeavors also most appreciated …Chicken Collective - purpose is to share resources (i.e. egg cartons, food waste, etc.) and build a local food hub for both eggs & meat. Another avenue to explore is hatching chicks for sale, more eggs & growing rare/popular breeds. We also have plans to launch a fleet of MCH (mobile chicken houses) as an easy way for people with land (or yards) to have their own chickens. Please note there is an opportunity to volunteer (and get the first meat birds) when we process approx. 80 of them on Apr. 4 (possibly continuing thru the 5th).Looking for a location for 100 meat birds in late Apr. or early May. Growing hemp for building material &/or animal feed (hemp license is needed). Growing fodder as an alternative to the Grange feed. Growing microgreens & sprouted foods. Freeze drier as a shared community investment. Aquaponics & geodesic dome building projects. In general help is needed organizing and publicizing all of the above, community outreach is crucial, and everything except the last entry can lead to business opportunities.
