Hoboken Police Release Video In Amazon Worker Shooting

HOBOKEN, NJ — After a local Amazon worker was shot early Sunday morning when he stepped outside a warehouse on Hoboken's west side, the police have released surveillance videos (see below) to try to get more information. The shooting occurred around 2:39 a.m. near the city's western border with the Palisade hills, outside an Amazon warehouse at Ninth and Monroe streets. The site is a block from the Ninth Street light rail station and elevator to Jersey City Heights. Sunday afternoon, Lt. Danilo Cabrera said in a release, "When police officers responded, they located a male with gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided and he was transported to JCMC for treatment. The male victim is listed as critical but stable at this time." On Wednesday, the police released further information and a video. They said: "The Hoboken Police Department is requesting help from the public with identifying the suspect depicted in the attach video. The suspect is wanted in connection to a shooting of a male in the area of 940 Monroe St." They added, "The suspect was seen pulling over in the area of Ninth Street between Madison and Monroe in a four door dark-colored sedan. The suspect exited the vehicle, approached the victim and shot the victim several times. The suspect then returned to the vehicle and exited northbound out of Hoboken." On Sunday, Chief Ken Ferrante tweeted, "This incident appears to have no association w/multiple shootings that occurred in the Jersey City Heights, Union City & Hoboken this summer & based on the info I received while at the scene this morning & up to this minute, there's no threat to Hoboken residents at this time."
