Press release from the City of San Clemente: December 01, 2020 The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect for San Diego County Valleys and Mountains and Inland Orange County, from Wednesday, December 2, at 6:00 p.m. through Saturday, December 5, at 10:00 p.m. The National Weather Service also issued a High Wind Watch for these same areas, for potentially damaging winds. Winds may start to pick up as early as Wednesday, or they may hold off until Thursday, these high fire weather risk conditions could affect the power lines serving local communities. SDG&E plans to activate its Emergency Operations Center to monitor high fire risk weather conditions which may force SDG&E to shut off power to reduce the risk of wildfire. The following communities may be impacted: Aguanga Alpine Boulevard Barona Reservation Campo Campo Reservation Chula Vista Descanso Encinitas (Olivenhain) El Cajon Escondido Ewiiaapaayp Reservation Fallbrook Jacumba Jamul Jamul Reservation Julian La Jolla Reservation Lakeside La Posta Reservation Mount Laguna Nestor Oceanside Pala Pala Reservation Palomar Mountain Pauma Reservation Pauma Valley Penasquitos Pine Valley Potrero Poway Ramona Ranchita Rancho Bernardo Rancho Santa Fe Rincon Reservation San Clemente San Juan Capistrano (East, unincorporated) San Pasqual Reservation San Marcos Santa Ysabel Santa Ysabel Reservation Sorrento Valley Sycuan Reservation Valley Center Viejas Reservation Warner Springs The estimated start time could be as early as late evening, Wednesday, December 2. We anticipate that based on current forecasts, the event could last until Sunday, December 6, with power being restored around Sunday at 6:00 p.m. We estimate 88,720 customers, including 5,796 of Medical Baseline (MBL) customers, live in the affected areas.
