Hoboken Police Charge Man With DWI, Wrong-Way Driving

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police charged a Roselle Park man with Driving While Intoxicated and other charges in the early morning hours of Saturday after they said an officer saw him driving the wrong way on a one way street. Police arrested Hunssaisensoshitsu Munozcastro, 45, of Roselle Park at 1:44 a.m. Saturday around 100 Monroe Street and charged him with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath testing, wrong way on a one way, and failure to exhibit insurance card and registration. Police said that Officer Daniel Barron observed a Grey Hyundai traveling the wrong way near First and Monroe Streets around 1:29 a.m. Barron conducted a motor vehicle stop and was backed up by officers Tyler Soto, Christopher Barral, and John Hermann. "Based on Officer Barron's interaction with Munozcastro, Officer Barron suspected Munozcastro was intoxicated," according to the police. Soto conducted a standardized field sobriety test. At the conclusion of the test, Officer Soto determined that Munozcastro was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. As a result, Munozcastro was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. At headquarters, Munozcastro did not provide a breath sample and therefore was charged with refusal to submit to breath testing, police said. Munozcastro also received motor vehicle summonses for the other charges. Munozcastro was released on his own 12 hours after his arrest time.
