Sure that’s more humane than intervention. Just let the mentally ill and addicted live and die on the street. Most of these people lived a life that led them to where they are. You honestly think they will kick dope or seek help with free will? No. They need intervention. This problem is lowering the quality of life for everyone in this town. We can’t just sit around and allow them to run rampant leaving needles and piles of trash everywhere. Imagine how nice day to day life would be if you didn’t have to worry about dope heads doing dope head stuff. Like break into your car when you go to the beach. Or steal from your yard. Or leave trash bags full of drug shit and trash for your child/dog/neighbor to accidentally stumble upon. These people require intervention. They need to be given help. At some point it shouldn’t be an option. It’s a requirement. Letting them just run rampant doing crime and untimely dying on the sidewalk of exposure or overdose is not humane.
