Hi, My name is Felix. Until recently 2/21, I was on death row at Maricopa Cty Animal Control. I was surrendered to the shelter and I don't know why. I have always been a good dog. Loyal, friendly and full of life. I feel abandoned. Not sure how anyone could give me up, being as lovable as I am. I actually HUG you by leaning into you. I give great doggie kisses and I love to cuddle with my owner. I have separation anxiety so I need someone who will stay closer to me. OK, so the person who adopts me will HAVE TO have the following: 1) No other dogs in the house. 2) Stable Job and income. 3) Patience (As I integrate) 4) Ability to buy grain free food. (I do best on grain free and eggs) 5) A house with a backyard and a secure fence / gate. (No apartments, unless you work from home) If you have an apartment, you will need to be able to walk me at least 4 times daily. 6) Love in your heart for animals. I need lots of it, but I'll give even more back. 7) Time for me. Most people just have a dog / dogs and don't spend much time with them. I need to heal, so I need you to take the time to understand who I am and be with me until I feel whole again. 8) No kids under 12. Please. Kids under 12 sometimes do stupid things to me, like pull my tail, or other irritating things. 9) Contact with my foster parents. They'll want to check on me from time to time and may want to see me as well. You must also make an agreement with my foster parents, that if things don't work out with me for any reason, you will never surrender me to a shelter. It's just too traumatic. My foster parents will take me back in the event of such an emergency. When we adopt, it's for life. If we plan carefully enough we understand there are no excuses for surrendering a pet, such as: "I had to move and they don't accept pets". Where situations occur, concessions need to be made for me. You would not volunteer handing over your own child because the place you are moving to doesn't accept children, would you? I am a living breathing sentient being with emotions and feelings and I really need the type of commitment that keeps me safe at all times. How does that sound? My foster parents are asking for a small rehoming fee of no more than 80.00. Justto cover my food while I stay with them. Thank You!
