Starting an apprenticeship program for an able bodied young man or woman veteran, willing to learn the electrical trade by O.J.T. and weekend school attendance. Only looking for one individual to work with our non profit, candidate will have to take an aptitude battery similar to the ASVAB but only a condensed version (25 questions). Basic math skills, abilities to include but not limited to: ability to lift 50lbs for extended periods of time (wire handling) ability to work in confined small spaces like under houses and in attics. (Also not afraid of arachnids!) can take direction easily. This position is compensated; but will be also a part time volunteer position in that working to build a Veterans trade school here in Springfield will have a required amount of weekly volunteer hours. This position can only blossom into a wonderful opportunity for a young Veteran who hasn’t forgotten how to serve his fellow vets with pride, dignity, and all the while gaining a valuable trade and life skills to boot!!!
