Aspetuck Valley Country Club is seeking an energetic, self-motivated employee to fulfill a full-time year-round position. Open to all candidates that are looking for direction through employment, surrounded by a hard-working crew with similar motives. The successful candidate will receive extensive training in the operation of equipment, managing turfgrass, and all-around golf course maintenance/management. This position will very much be an “apprentice” type position. Once hired, the employee with be trained on all aspects of the job in order to empower them for success in their position. Many life-long skills will also be learned along the way such as effective communication, hard-work, accountability, attention-to-detail, and time-management. All aspects of this position will be trained to empower the employee for successful management of the golf course. Daily activities will include but are not limited to: Mowing greens, tees, fairways; water management on greens, tees, fairways; irrigation repair and maintenance; course set up; applications of plant protectants; landscape plant maintenance; snow removal in winter months. Typical off-season projects include: drainage installation, tree removal, irrigation installation, bunker renovations, hardscape installations (rock walls), and hands-on mechanic training. NOTE: This is a labor-intensive position, expect to be on your feet most days. You will occasionally be asked to lift objects ~50 pounds. You will also be expected to work outside in the elements (sun/heat/rain/cold/snow). Typically 40+ hours per week, with weekend work throughout the year.
