Description
WARWICK, RI — A person with flu-like symptoms arrived at T.F. Green Airport Tuesday morning, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation said. The person was kept away from others and taken to a nearby hospital.
The airline notified the corporation of the incoming passenger. The airport, airline and public safety officials immediately activated safety protocols to assess and transport the person out of the building without coming into close contact with other passengers.
"It is not unusual for passengers to become ill on flights and require assistance from health care professionals," the RIAC said in a statement. "However, given the nature of this situation, responding personnel employed health protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Rhode Island Department of Health intended to assist the individual and prevent exposure to communicable diseases."
