Please join us for a TBRI (Trust-Based Relationship Intervention) training for adoptive parents. According to the California Clearinghouse for Evidence-Based practices, TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. Our expert trainer will provide an overview on understanding trauma (even in infant adoption), attachment styles, and the principles of TBRI.
TBRI Practitioner, Candice Darwin, MS Ed, LPC, will conduct the training. Candice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master’s of Science in Education with a concentration in Family Counseling from Baylor University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with at risk teens and their families. In 2012, she became a TBRI practitioner after first being trained in TBRI in 2008. She currently trains parents, educators, mental health professionals and other key child welfare stakeholders in how to apply TBRI in the areas they serve.
The training will take place in the Beverly Brown Coates Auditorium. Please note that parking is limited at the Hilltop Arboretum.
