Hello there! My name is Dylan, I am a music educator with a degree from the University of Washington. I teach beginner/intermediate drum set to all ages at three local music schools, and am working towards obtaining my Oregon Teaching License to teach music at public schools. Privately, I offer drum lessons AT YOUR HOME & ON YOUR DRUM SET. With 15+ years of experience playing the drums, in-home lessons have been without a doubt the most important lessons I've received (8 years of in-home lesson experience). There's nothing like learning on your own instrument, and with my personalized lessons and a passion for teaching, the sky is the limit for my students. Music allows for and teaches mathematics, reading and comprehension, confidence and self-expression, pattern recognition and organizational skills, introduces oneself to different cultures and ways of thinking, further develops your relationship with sound and space, and can become a lifelong passion. Of course, the most important thing to playing the drums and to obtain these skills is to find a love for the instrument. I approach each student as the individual they are and at the level they are at, and formulate teaching strategies and goals based on how they or their parents would like to see them develop.
