Dr. Benjamin, Executive Director of the American Public Health Association (APHA) and recognized as one of the nation’s most influential physician leaders, will focus on the role health equity needs to play in that effort. The Second Morning Keynote will recognize the necessity to approach the promotion and protection of human rights and civil liberties as matter of public health. Ms. Lieberman, Executive Director of the New York Civil Liberties Union and founder of the NYCLU’s Reproductive Rights Project, will include a discussion of the responsibility for public health analysis and solutions to issues ranging from the pandemic and abortion to housing, mental health and gun violence. The Morning Panel will focus on building an environment that supports health equity. Panelists will share insights and strategies for how to address disparities in public health, healthcare, and social systems. The discussion will include what it means to promote a healthy belonging in organizations and communities. It will engage voices who lead initiatives across marginalized populations. The Afternoon Panel will focus on the topic of advancing health in the workplace. The dialogue will examine how various industries prioritize and protect the health of their workers through programming policy and management. The goal of this panel is to decipher the ever-evolving relationship between work and health. We aim to broaden the scope of public health and demonstrate that workforce health in any industry is a public health issue. The Afternoon Fireside Chat will focus on the topic of Achieving “Techquity”: Bridging the Digital Divide. As we power up for the digital health revolution, we aim to examine how various public health and healthcare organizations prioritize equity in their digital health pursuits through programming, policy, and management. It will include topics such as digital empowerment, healthcare innovation, digital needs of rural versus urban communities, and how to improve the delivery of health services through digital health solutions. The Afternoon Roundtable Discussion will focus on the following topics: reproductive health, maternal health, and abortion rights. Through a social justice lens, the dialogue will seek to illuminate how we might navigate the reproductive justice and maternal health care landscape through programming, policy, and management in 2022 and beyond. The goal of the roundtable discussion is to highlight the integral role of reproductive justice in the health equity agenda.
