Join us for our first in-person festival in two years! We are thrilled to offer fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and YA book writing workshops. The 16th annual Mountain Heritage Literary Festival will be Friday June 10th and Saturday June 11th on the picturesque campus of Lincoln Memorial University with unmatched views of the Cumberland Gap National Park. Join us for our first in-person festival in two years! We are thrilled to offer fiction, poetry, nonfiction, YA book writing, and podcasting workshops from an award-winning, highly published faculty. In addition, we’ll have speakers, book signings, and readings from attendees and teachers. MHLF is a supportive, inclusive haven for writers. Whether you have never put pen to paper or are an experienced writer, you will walk away inspired, invigorated, and part of our growing community. In addition, we will have several writing contests for cash prizes, open mic reading opportunities, and many other events. Come learn with keynote speaker, poet Rebecca Gayle Howell, and several of Appalachia’s brightest literary minds like Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, Savannah Sipple, Jessie Van Eerden, Randi Pink, and more! Event registration includes: entry to 16th Annual Mountain Heritage Literary Festival, access to all workshops, one catered meal each day, a copy of keynote speaker Rebecca Gayle Howell’s acclaimed poetry collection, Render/An Apocalypse. **Unfortunately, we cannot offer on-campus housing this year. Attendees are responsible for their own housing. There are numerous AirBnB opportunities in the area, in addition too hotel accommodations in Middlesboro, KY and Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. The Olde Mill Bed and Breakfast in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee is offering a discount for our festival goers. When you book just say you are with the Mountain Heritage Literary Festival.
