WARWICK, RI — No charges will be filed in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash involving a Warwick police officer in November. On Wednesday, Attorney General Peter Neronha's Office announced that the statewide grand jury investigated the matter and did not find sufficient evidence to bring any charges. The crash happened on the night of Nov. 25, near the intersection of Sunny Cove Drive and West Shore Road. The victim, Brian Adams, 25, was nearly hit by at least one other vehicle after he ran out into the road, directly into the path of Officer Thomas Paine's cruiser. Adams was rushed to Kent Hospital, where he later died. As is protocol, the officer was placed on leave while the Warwick Police Department, along with the Rhode Island State Police and Attorney General Peter Neronha's office investigated the incident.
