The Bakersfield Music Awards Celebrates Independent Local Extremely Talented Music Artists. The mission of BMA is to highlight Bakersfield local unsigned music artists with their different genres of music and others in the industry by the presentation of a First-Class Awards event annually each June in Bakersfield, CA. The event honors artists in various categories and remembers the pioneers who originated the origin of music and helped paved the way for others. Those honored are performers, lyricist, DJs, producers, engineers, and many others. The whole purpose is to keep music thriving in the city by getting young people involved in this movement, so as many music artists as possible will be recognized, respected, and acknowledge. BMA brings diversity to the community in an upbeat harmonious manner. The Bakersfield Music Awards Is becoming an icon of Bakersfield music tradition. This year we have partnered with CSUB to build a music scholarship for Bakersfield youth. Each year a percentage of BMA events proceeds will go toward music programs. We need the community support to make this possible! So please, support this movement by attend our events and inviting others. How can this benefit the ARTIST? Benefits of participating in the Bakersfield Music Awards can opens doors. If artist accept our honors, BMA credibility may make it easier for the artist to lock-in bookings, be discovered by music executives and be signed by labels. BMA goals are to help independent artists based on the merits of their music, not to make awards based on record sales or size of fan base.
