homeless, living in car and car wont start. need help asap

My car won't start. It has an e.c.u. issue and needs an alternator in the very least. I am homeless and in need of a good running vehicle that is dependable and good on gas. I have a little money and am not lazy, I would trade my labor doing whatevers needed to make it work. Anything right now is better than what I have. Any help or recommendations as to where any help can be found is always accepted. Thank you for your time
