Must love horses and the benefits of time with a sweet mare. I have been Wakila's owner for the last 1.5 years helping her recover from a difficult early life. She's doing great. Unfortunately, I've been incapacitated recently so have had to rely on others to help with her daily care. A barn mate has been caring for her for the last 3 weeks but is needing to spend more time with her own horses. I am looking for 1 or 2 people who can help Wakila and I out on a daily basis. This should not be considered a 'paying job' since I can only provide minimal daily stipend ($15) in addition to proximity with a special horse. It is your love, compassion and desire for horse time that will make this a fit for you. Total time investment daily is about 75 - 95 minutes. I need help with the following: round trip transport from my house to the ranch (Vallejo to American Canyon - 6 miles), bringing horse by lead to / from turn out (no ground or other horse training work); setting up evening and morning hay nets, mucking out stall and paddock and wheeling it to the muck pile (we have a farm cart). As I recover and you become familiar with the routine, our chore time will decrease. I hope to have functional recovery by mid-April pending green light from MD. I am hoping to find one person who might help with this but if you can do a few days a week, please respond. The ranch owner and I will require that you sign safety waivers; this is standard practice given that horses are large animals. Note: My communication style is warm yet direct.
