Havana’s Shade Tobacco Museum invites you to “learn everything you need to know about cigars and to share your knowledge and enjoyment."
Love cigars? Want to learn more about cigars? Want to meet others who appreciate a fine cigar? Then come to Havana on Saturday, April 2nd. The fun begins at 10:00 AM with a day full of activities ending around 4:00. The day will include:
• Free admission
• Cigar rolling demonstrations
• Tobacco stringing machine demonstrations
• Panel discussions by tobacco growers and workers
• Cigar aficionados and reps on site:
o Bobby Newman, 3rd generation owner of JC Newman Cigar Company
o Jeff Borysiewicz, owner of Corona Cigar Company, and
o John Oliva, Oliva Tobacco Company Cigar company histories
• Fine cigars for sale
• Cigar smoking areas
• Museum tours and presentations Voices II - recordings of local residents’ historical memories
• Raffles & contests (Long Ash contest!)
• Beer/wine available
• Two locally owned food trucks, one with Cuban fare
• Happy hour with live music by “Madison Street”
• Prizes including art prints, mugs, cigars, history books
