At the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's March Madness event, three North Shore residents were given special recognition for their achievements. President of the Gold Coast Business Association and former Sea Cliff Mayor, Ed Lieberman, and President of the North Shore Kiwanis Club, John Kle, received plaques in recognition of their service to the community. A special honor was presented to 3rd Assistant Fire Chief Carlos Cardenas, the first Hispanic to achieve this rank within the City of Glen Cove's Fire Department. The North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New York honored former Sea Cliff Mayor and President of the Gold Coast Business Association, Ed Lieberman. (Photo courtesy GSM Communications) In addition to plaques, the three were also presented proclamations on behalf of Senators Jim Gaughran and Kevin Thomas. North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President, Ever Padilla, thanked all three for their service to the community and highlighted their accomplishments in his keynote address. Back by popular demand, was Tony Busse & 21 for Fun, providing blackjack entertainment for the evening. A portion of the money raised from the blackjack table will be donated to the Glen Cove Fire Department. Members of the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department and the Board of Directors of the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce stand with honoree - 3rd Assistant Chief Carlos Cardenas. The members of the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce including President Ever Padilla, Vice President and Counsel to the Board Connie Pinilla, Esq., Treasurer Nelson Rivera, and Public Relations Officer Gaitley Stevenson-Mathews were pleased to join the full membership in welcoming the honored guests, elected officials, and many others who attend the event. Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck joins North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board Members in congratulating 3rd Assistant Chief Carlos Cardenas on his honor.
