RESTON, VA — The puck will drop on Friday at 6 p.m. at the SkateQuest ice rink in Reston as the Fairfax County Police Department takes on the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department in a charity hockey game. The event is free for fans to attend and root on their favorite first responders as they battle over the blue and red lines for ice hockey bragging rights in the county. Donations will be accepted at the game and will go to RedHelp.org and BlueHelp.org, organizations that provide mental health services and support to first responders. Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis has made a friendly wager with Fairfax County Fire Chief John Butler on the game. If the police team wins, Chief Butler must wear a police department hockey jersey to work on Monday, March 28. And if the fire department team wins, Chief Davis must wear a fire department hockey jersey to work. "Let's pack the house for this game that's being played for a great, great cause," Davis said in a video message. "Good luck to both teams." SkateQuest is located at 1800 Michael Faraday Court in Reston.
