Description
COVENTRY, RI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Emile Lavoie, Jr, who nominated John Vanluevan Graichen, of Coventry. He started a non-profit to help kids have access to fishing equipment, and frequently hosts kids' fishing events.
"[He] started a non-profit out of a hobby when a kid asked if he could fish too, so John gave the kid his own fishing pole," Graichen wrote. "John provides stocks tackle boxes and fishing pole and gives them free to kids. Also, sometimes weekly he hosts how to fishing events on Facebook at Keeping Kids Fishing."
Thank you for all you do, John!
