Description

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park is memorializing residents lost to COVID-19 through a public webpage on the village's website. According to Tinley Park officials, residents are encouraged to submit information on their loved ones who died due to COVID-19. Once submissions are in, the page will serve as a memorial with pictures and obituaries. Village officials announced the initiative on the two year anniversary of COVID-19 being designated as a worldwide pandemic. Throughout that time, 108 Tinley Park residents have died due to complications from COVID-19, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. That number trails other south suburban towns which saw 169 deaths in Orland Park and 111 in Chicago Heights. Any residents interested in submitting can send their loved one's name, photo and a short blurb about their life to [email protected].
