PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield residents who enjoy taking their dogs to Daisy Dog Park will have to find temporarily find a new park to bring their furry friends to. Plainfield Park District officials announced Thursday they're closing the park at 13214 Blakely Drive for turf maintenance starting April 1. The goal, according to Executive Director Carlo Capalbo, is to finish the work by the end of the summer and reopen the park in the fall. Park district staff will fertilize and plant seeds in the park to encourage organic growth, but in the end, it "all depends on the weather and how everything reacts," Capalbo told Patch. Although one dog park is closing, there are more around Plainfield to visit. Clow Stephens Park, located at 16650 S. Lily Cache Road is pet-friendly, as is Van Horn Woods (East), off Frontage Road. "Thank you for your patience while we maintain this park," staff said in a news release.
