PENNSYLVANIA — Once again, the Villanova Wildcats will represent the greater Philadephia area's hopes in the NCAA March Madness tournament, as the men's basketball team takes on Michigan Thursday night.
The 2nd-seeded Nova team blew through the first two rounds last weekend, beating 15th-seeded Delaware by 20 points and 7th seeded Ohio State by 10. The Buckeyes drew within 2 points later in the game before Nova finished powerfully, shutting down their opponent in the closing minutes.
"A tough battle versus a talented and well-disciplined @OhioStateHoops team," Villanova head coach Jay Wright shared on Twitter. "Much respect for @ChrisHoltmann and his staff."
The Wildcats will now battle this year's Cindarella team: an 11th ranked Michigan squad that has upset both of its first two opponents, 6th-seeded Colorado State and 3rd-seeded Tennessee.
The latest odds make Villanova 5 point favorites, placed at a -220 money line and -4.5 against the spread, according to USA Today.
Tip off is 6:29 p.m. eastern in San Antonio on Thursday night.
