Description
I have old Cubase VST song files from early 2000s that I need brought into the new Cubase file format. Steinberg changed the file format around 2000 to a new format. I have old songs I am trying to bring back to life from that era. I've been in touch with Steinberg/Yamaha, but they have no support for this.
According to the Steinberg website, "Mac file format has been replaced by the current project file format.CPR. With the introduction of Cubase SX 1, Cubase SL 1 and Cubase SE 1 in 2001. Cubase SE 3, Cubase SL 3 and Cubase SX 3 are the last versions that are capable of importing the classic Cubase song formats. Therefore, they can be used as format converters."
If you have Cubase SX, SL, SE or SX3 it will make the conversion from VST. That was the newer software that was introduced with the new file format according to Steinberg/Yamaha. There was never a stand-alone conversion program available to make this conversion according to Steinberg/Yamaha. Bummer...
I am looking to be able to work with these old files in Logic Pro or Cubase 12 as an end result.
Any help would be appreciated!
