Single-Car Crash Leads To DUI Arrest; Warrants: Blotter

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department made the following arrests in recent days: Warrant Arrest A Libertyville police officer spotted a vehicle parked at a Shell gas station, 2070 Shell Drive, at about 2:20 a.m. on March 8 and completed a check of registration. After learning the owner of the vehicle, Amy Arias, 22, of the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive in Grayslake, had a warrant issued for her arrest, officers approached the vehicle, according to a police report. Officers spoke with Arias, informed her about the active warrant and took her into custody. Arias was unable to post bond and was taken to the Lake County Jail. Driving While Under the Influence Authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. on March 9 and spoke with the diver, Carl Wyatt, 44. While speaking with Wyatt, officers noticed several signs that he was impaired, according to a police report. Officers asked him to complete field sobriety tests but Wyatt refused. Wyatt, of Waukegan, was taken to the Libertyville Police Department and was released after signing a $3,000 personal recognizance bond. He faces driving while under the influence and improper lane usage charges and is next expected in court on April 20. Driving Under the Influence Officers pulled over a car that crossed the centerline while driving south on South Milwaukee Avenue near Greentree Parkway at about 1:20 a.m. on March 13. After speaking with the driver, Vincent Wasseluk, 45, of the 700 block of Williams Way in Vernon Hills, officers noticed "several signs of impairment," and conducted field sobriety tests. Wasseluk was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department where he received citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence BAC over .08 and improper lane usage. He was released after posting his driver's license and signing a personal recognizance bond. Wasseluk is next expected in court on April 8.
