SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A South San Francisco man was arrested on suspicion of taking part in a vehicle burglary, police said. The suspect was arrested in connection to more than $21,000 in stolen automotive parts, police said Wednesday.
The auto parts were taken from a trailer parked on the 400 block of Forbes Boulevard on Nov. 29. Federico Flores-Ortega, 40, was arrested Tuesday after surveillance footage from a nearby business revealed Flores-Ortega's partial license plate number and vehicle description, according to a news release from the South San Francisco Police Department.
Detectives were able to locate Flores-Ortega based on the security footage, police said. Upon finding the suspect, police were able to recover a "vast majority, if not all" of the missing property.
The autoparts were returned to the "rightful owner," police said.
Detectives were looking for additional suspects involved with the heist. Anyone with information regarding the incident was encouraged to contact the South San Francisco Police Department at 650-877-8900 or use the anonymous tip line at 650-952-2244 or through email at [email protected].
