EAGAN, MN — This year's spring series of Healthy Kids Running begins May 8, the organization said. The series is a five-week program with races every Sunday at Black Hawk Middle School organized by age group, the organization said. Registration is $35 and includes a T-shirt and a medal, according to the organization. The program is available for kids ages 2-14, the organization said. "It's a safe, healthy environment for kids to become interested in running and realize how fun being active in any way really can be," Tamara Conan, vice president of Healthy Kids Running Series, said. "During the pandemic, we created an interactive guide which is included in the Series registration. This interactive guide is about stretching, healthy eating, mental health, physical activity, and the proper formation of how to run. Now more than ever, learning how important being active is and being outside is essential. It's a prescription in itself. We want to create this overall healthy lifestyle for all of our runners."
