Description

AURORA, IL — Three men wearing masks and armed with handguns forcefully entered an Aurora home late Wednesday night, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Around 9:54 p.m., sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Solfisburg Avenue in unincorporated Aurora after receiving a 911 call about the home invasion. After kicking in the front door, the men unsuccessfully attempted to open a safe, but they stole two guns before fleeing, according to deputies. While the gunmen shuffled through the house, the resident was pushed to the ground and held there, according to Sheriff Ronald Hain. Officials said the resident was not injured, and some evidence was recovered from the scene. "We are unsure what the target of the home invasion was," Hain told Patch. The investigation is ongoing, and officials ask anyone with information to call the Kane County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division at 630-444-1103.
