CHARLOTTE, NC — Passenger activity has resumed following a kitchen fire at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to airport officials.
Firefighters contained the fire and purged smoke from the area, officials said.
The fire was located in the atrium, and passengers were removed from the area to the concourses while the Charlotte Fire Department worked to put out the fire. Arrivals and departures continued during the incident.
The roadway in front of the terminal was closed, officials said. It's not clear when it will reopen.
