Here are the top three stories in Grand Rapids today: The West Michigan Construction Institute, in partnership with the Grand Rapids Community College, opened its new construction education facility. The center will offer classes in carpentry, concrete, and various construction fields to students in the area. Talent will be recruited from the education facility. (WZZM13.com)Curbside yard waste collection will begin on Apr. 4 for Grand Rapids residents. The service will have carts, tags, and paper bags for purchase at City Hall. To have your yard waste collected, it must be at the collection point by 7:00 a.m. (MLive.com)The Kent County Domestic Violence Community Coordinated Response Team has released recommendations to address domestic violence cases. The review was commissioned after the murder-suicide of a young boy by his father last year.
