SCHEDULE: Weekdays that school is in session, 3 hours per day, after school hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
● Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment and safety procedures commonly used in custodial work.
● Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
● Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds or more occasionally and perform a variety of routine custodial tasks which include bending, climbing and walking.
● Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing repairs a plus with ability to learn.
● Current NYS driver’s license with reliable transportation.
● Must be accessible by telephone on 24 hour call and available to answer after hours alarm calls.
● High school diploma/GED required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Scrub, mop, wax, sweep, polish or vacuum classroom, offices and hallways as appropriate on a daily basis. Shampoo carpets when needed.
2. Dust, polish furniture, wash windows, blinds, woodwork. Wash and sanitize toilets, washrooms, and bathroom fixtures daily.
3. Refill soap, toilet tissue and paper towel dispensers; to collect and dispose of paper and rubbish daily.
4. Periodically clean and wash high areas including ceiling light fixtures, room ventilation apparatus, walls, and wastebaskets. Paint walls and/or ceilings on an as needed basis.
