The Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work. BVMI was selected as the August 2020 beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Carlstadt Stop & Shop located at 625 Paterson Avenue, Carlstadt, NJ 07072. BVMI will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during August, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag. “BVMI has provided free quality healthcare to the working uninsured of Bergen County for over 10 years and we are so grateful for being recognized by Stop & Shop in Carlstadt as a community partner,” said Amanda Missey, CEO of BVMI. “Every dollar received from this Stop & Shop Community Bag Program helps us deliver much needed primary care to our neighbors in need right here in Bergen County.” For more information on the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, visit stopandshop.bags4mycause.com About BVMI BVMI provides free primary and preventive healthcare to Bergen County adults who work but cannot afford insurance. BVMI is guided by the "Culture of Caring" and believes that how people are treated is as important as the care they receive. With the help and expertise of over 150 clinical and non-clinical volunteers, BVMI treated over 1,500 patients in more than 9,200 medical visits in 2019. BVMI does not receive payment from patients, reimbursement from insurance companies or support from the government.
