Description

Hello: I hate the term 'pro' but whatever... Moved back to Austin during ye olden pandemic and am trying to find some interesting new projects to be a part of. Open to anything from backing singer/songwriters to joining existing bands to writing session to recording to just... whatever your needs (or wants) are. Experienced "road dog" and recording nerd with credits/tours/etc on artists on labels such as Matador, Merge, Dangerbird, Jagjaguar, Witchita, etc etc... Lots and lots of guitars and amps so I can find whatever 'magic sound' yr after. Arranging and finding a new angle for a song are what I feel most comfortable with. Trying to find that new approach that subverts the obvious and finds a new spot to crawl up in. BUT... I can just as easily do 'whats on the record' if need be. Totally. My wheelhouse: Capo-ing up and jangling in different voicings. Turning on some reverse reverbs and getting full on 'gaze. Clicking on the vintage big muff and bending the shit out of that 'ol bar. Comp'd and chorus 80s rack rhythm vibes. That just breaking up classic americana rhythm thing. Texture and atmosphere and just general "is that a guitar" vibes. Let's talk... I'm open to anything right now. Would love to get back 'in the van' but would also love to be buried in the studio for awhile or just gigin' 'round town. SERIOUSLY. FWIW things I'm feeling/listening to right now (old and new): Wednesday - mowing the leaves instead... Destroyer - Labyrinthitis Young Guv - GUVIII Desert Rose Band - Running The Church - Heyday Country Westerns - S/T Thousand Yard Stare - Hands On Barry Walker Jr - Shoulda Zenith George Jones - The Grand Tour Sounds of Liberation - S/T
