***Reply to submit your resume and ask for an application. JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Summary: General Auto Parts is accepting applications for a full-time Used Auto Parts Delivery Driver. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying Used Auto Parts that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs., D.O.T. medical certificate is required to drive our 12,300 lb. GVWR, 14’ box truck. We deliver into Chicago 2-3 times a week and local deliveries daily in the surrounding area. Delivery Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s license clear from any suspensions or revocations. If your license was ever suspended or revoked for illegal use of alcohol and/or drugs it must have been re-instated for five years. If your license was ever suspended or revoked for any other reason it must have been re-instated for three years. Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with GAP appearance guidelines. Paid holidays after 90 days and paid vacation. Ideal candidate will possess the following:  Ability to prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition, checking fluid levels and tire pressure, obtaining or scheduling required repairs, validating adherence to road-worthiness standards.  Experience using computers  Possess a full complement of personal knowledge of auto parts  Professional communication & problem solving skills  Personal cell phone  Clean driving record  Class D or greater driver's license and a D.O.T. medical certificate Job Responsibilities:  Deliver auto parts in Rockford and Chicago area  Assist in loading and unloading trucks for the days delivery's  Confirm load accuracy against manifests or invoices  Communicating and working with the public and others outside of our organization  Documenting/Recording Information  Bend, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday  Full time: 8-10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week  Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis  Ability to work, additional hours depending on service needs  Sitting required infrequently throughout the duration of the workday  Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate parts and/or items weighing up to 70 pounds  Operate phone and a computer  Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment  Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions  Willing to work in various positions / dept. around the shop when needed BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S.  Commercial driving experience preferred but not required.  5 years min. driving experience.  High School Diploma  Must be at least 21 years of age.  Class D Standard Drivers and a D.O.T. medical certificate is required.  Personal cell phone  Local Candidates Only
