Description
Experience the power of the breath in supporting the nervous system to feel relaxed and at peace in the present moment. Expanding presence and compassion Presence is the experience of being in the now. The act of becoming present frees our thoughts and emotions from the chains of the past and anxieties of the future. By tapping into the present moment we have access to deeper levels of connection, love and gratitude. Compassion allows us to see ourselves and others with grace while coming to the understanding that we are all inherently good humans, doing the best we can given our capacity in every moment. Combining the connection with presence and compassion allows us to feel freedom from anger, bitterness, resentment and distraction. Breathing into this allows us to feel the joy of life in the present. Your facilitator, Tawny Marie, will share integrative breathwork patterns to hold and cultivate more joy, trust, connection, and a powerful sense of empathy from within. During the workshop you will be guided through some gentle movement and stretching, followed by a meditative breathwork session paired with soothing sound bowls. After participating in this event, you will understand what breathwork is, how it feels in your body, and methods to easily incorporate this ‘life in the now’ practice into your daily life. This is a beginner friendly practice. To make your experience as comfortable as possible, it is encouraged that you bring a blanket and yoga mat (if you have one). You will be lying down for an extended amount of time, so feel free to bring anything else that will allow you to feel more secure in your space (warm socks, beanie, pillow for under knees, crystals, essential oil, journal). Being comfortable can elevate your experience and support your ability to stay present. Recommendation to limit food and liquids 1-2 hours before the session to prevent an upset stomach. Sanitized yoga mats and clean blankets will be available to borrow if needed. Look forward to seeing new and familiar faces!
