These videos are a great way for you to learn more about our business and our mission so take a minute to check them out: The Role: The Rigging Safety Manager is responsible for the training and support of Colossal's production staff. This role will be maintaining all safety standards, training and equipment related to rigging. The Rigging Safety Manager is a first-line manager in the production department and will be working with teams to make sure all staff is upholding the highest level of safety standards. This position falls under the supervision of the VP of Production. Key Responsibilities: Implementing and managing Colossal’s rig safety program including hosting monthly safety meetings, ensuring the crew wears the correct safety clothing and equipment, and performing routine safety checks. Overseeing the maintenance and safety of all Colossal leased and owned walls which includes ensuring all rig points of contact are structurally sound, ensuring access to all rigs is safe, and ensuring the structures are properly maintained and upgraded. Managing any construction projects related to rigging including negotiating with subcontractors/vendors, purchasing materials, interacting with the lessor, etc. Requirements: The Basics: 3 years or more of experience working as a designated rigging foreperson under a licensed NYC special or master rigger 3 years leading a crew A driver’s license 30 hour OSHA Construction training card A valid 32 hour suspended scaffold training card Zero fear of heights Adaptable, persistent, positive, focused, and a good problem solver A good alarm clock Ability to lift up to 75 lbs The Nitty Gritty: Naturally live by our pillars: curiosity, awareness, leadership, and craft.
