Blue Ridge Preservation, Inc of Boone is looking for full-time, year-round experienced Lead Maintenance Technician. We are located on the campus of the Art of Living Retreat Center, a year-round retreat and residential housing community. The center consists of 28 buildings and over 9,000 acres of land. The Lead Maintenance Technician must possess solid leadership skills and is an integral team member of the Retreat Center. They will be responsible for ensuring the completion of all assigned maintenance needs and repairs for all the physical assets of the retreat center, spa/hotel, and apartment buildings. The successful applicant/candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of property maintenance related work tasks including but not limited to: • the maintenance & repair of buildings and grounds in assigned areas • repair and maintenance of residential housing units • repair and maintenance of community and general use buildings • repair and maintenance of on-site Spa & Hotel facilities • solid experience with working on new construction projects • quality repair of doors, windows, building exteriors • basic knowledge of electrical & plumbing repairs • completion of assigned work order repair requests • experience with conducting appliance repairs • repair to heating, plumbing, & refrigeration components • working with machines and equipment, such as hand and power tools, and drill presses saws in carrying out maintenance and repair tasks. • All other duties as assigned by Property Manager You will be expected to provide your own hand tools. Requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, moving, carrying, pushing & pulling of over 50lbs. Job Type: Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings & weekends when necessary. Reports To: Property Manager Benefits: Health insurance 90 days continued employment, and 401K after One year of employment. Application Requirements: • A High School Diploma, G.E.D certificate or formal education/training from a higher education program • No less than 3 or more years of progressive and practical experience in at least one or more of the skilled trades previously described. • Certificate in HVAC, Certificate in Rinnai Q series boilers, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred. • Need to pass background screening. • Must be able to work in the United States and have work references. • Must possess no less than 3 years of active experience.
