Blue Ridge Preservation, Inc of Boone is on the hunt for a talented and reliable Property Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance department. We are seeking to fill approximately 4 – 6 openings. We are located on the campus of the Art of Living Retreat Center, a year-round retreat and residential housing community. The Property Maintenance Technician will assist with ensuring the maintenance and repair of all the physical assets of the retreat center and residential housing facilities. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills. The successful applicant/candidate will be responsible for assisting other team members and working independently while performing a variety of property maintenance related work tasks including but not limited to: • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues • the maintenance & repair of buildings and grounds in assigned areas • repair and maintenance of residential housing units • repair and maintenance of community and general use buildings • repair and maintenance of on-site Spa & Hotel facilities • conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard. • manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality • quality repair of doors, windows, building exteriors • basic knowledge of electrical & plumbing repairs • completion of assigned work order repair requests • experience with conducting appliance repairs • assist with general maintenance tasks including landscape • advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. • physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings • must be well- organized and can prioritize tasks. • other duties as assigned by Lead Maintenance Technician You will be expected to provide your own hand tools. Requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, moving, carrying, pushing & pulling of over 50lbs. Application Requirements: • Need to pass background screening. • Must be able to work in the United States and have work references. • High school diploma; equivalent qualification. • Certificate in HVAC, Certificate in Rinnai Q series boilers, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred. • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
