Black ultimate frisbee players from across the country showcase elite athleticism and invite youth and community to celebrate diversity.
The Youth Ultimate League of Arlington (YULA) is proud to host the first leg of Disc/Diversity’s 2022 Con10ent Tour. The showcase game will take place on the opening evening of YULA's nationally-recognized YULA Invite tournament (https://yula-ulti.org/yula-invite-tournament) and center on an elite-level ultimate frisbee game featuring 30 Black athletes from across the country.
Staged under the lights at Washington-Liberty High School Stadium in Arlington, the event will also introduce local youth of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
Admission is free, but patrons are encouraged to consider their privilege and donate what they can in order to support future tour stops and to help YULA increase access to the sport for underserved youth and communities in Arlington.
YULA is an all-volunteer local nonprofit that facilitates recreational and competitive ultimate frisbee opportunities for hundreds of middle and high school youth of all skill levels. Ultimate in general and YULA in particular focus on "Spirit of the Game" as a guiding principle, which teaches and embodies leadership, sportsmanship, and inclusion. YULA actively accommodates children of all types and backgrounds. In many cases, children who have been turned off or turned away by more popular sports find a home in ultimate frisbee, including increased self-confidence, a sense of belonging, and training that can help young people achieve anything from physical fitness to national competitiveness as an elite athlete.
