Press release from the Sacramento Public Library: NOTICE: Due to the latest public health order, the library is operating at reduced occupancy. Sacramento Public Library reopened 20 locations to the public with limited occupancy, including Arcade, Arden-Dimick, Belle Cooledge, Carmichael, Colonial Heights, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Galt-Marian O. Lawrence, Isleton, Martin Luther King Jr., Nonie Wetzel Courtland, North Highlands-Antelope, North Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Rio Linda, Robbie Waters Pocket-Greenhaven, Southgate, South Natomas, Sylvan Oaks and Walnut Grove. Patrons may visit the library for browsing and computer use for up to one hour, and may experience wait times to enter. These locations will operate Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Isleton, Nonie Wetzel Courtland, and Walnut Grove hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1 to 6 p.m. "While we have been able to serve the community with curbside service and virtual programming, we know that it has been a struggle for many without access to our services," said Library Director and CEO Rivkah Sass. "We are so excited to open our doors and welcome you back. Your next visit may look a little different, but know that restoring access and keeping you safe are our priorities." The library has implemented a number of safety measures to protect public health. This includes requiring all staff and patrons two years or older to wear a face covering, reducing occupancy and seating to allow for proper social distancing, providing hand sanitizing stations prior to entry, and frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces. Patrons may visit 20 Sacramento Public Library locations, which have reopened the public with limited occupancy. This includes Arcade, Arden-Dimick, Belle Cooledge, Carmichael, Colonial Heights, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Galt-Marian O. Lawrence, Isleton, Martin Luther King Jr., Nonie Wetzel Courtland, North Highlands-Antelope, North Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Rio Linda, Robbie Waters Pocket-Greenhaven, Southgate, South Natomas, Sylvan Oaks and Walnut Grove. What can I expect when I visit the library? During your visit, you can browse the collection, use self-checkout to take materials home, and use the computers and printers. Please be advised that a few things have changed to help reduce contact and slow the spread of COVID-19. Patrons may expect wait times to enter the library as our public occupancy has been reduced in accordance with the current public health order. Public health and safety are our priority. No, not yet. We are working to reopen as many branches as soon as possible and in a safe, coordinated and phased effort. What are the hours of operations? Library hours of operations are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Isleton, Nonie Wetzel Courtland Library and Walnut Grove locations are open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturdays. Is curbside service available? Curbside service for pickups and returns is available at 26 locations during our regular hours of operations. Can I make an appointment to visit the library? Yes, you can schedule a one-hour appointment to visit the library by calling (916) 264-2920 or (800) 209-4627. During your visit, you can browse the library and use the computers. A library card number is required for a computer reservation. If you do not have a library card, you may request one online or call (800) 209-4627 for assistance. You may schedule up to 2 appointments per week. Please arrive promptly for your appointment and check in with library staff to enter the building. We can hold your appointment for up to 15 minutes past the start time. After that time, computer use and browsing will be available on first come first served basis. Yes. We will have limited occupancy to ensure that all can maintain social distancing. We encourage you to browse our collection, but ask that you limit your visit to one hour for safety reasons. Patrons may expect wait times to enter the library as our public occupancy has been reduced in accordance with the current public health order. How do I return items? Book drops are available 24/7 at select locations. Patrons can return library materials during our hours of operation in the designated bin. Returned items will be placed in quarantine for 96 hours and will not be checked in immediately. Items may take up to a week to be removed from your account. Can I drop off donated materials? The library is not accepting donations at this time, What safety measures are being taken for the public and staff? We will be following public health recommendations for the health and safety of our patrons and employees. We are taking a number of safety precautions: All staff and visitors two years or older are required to wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth.
