Press release from the Sacramento Public Library: Sacramento Public Library is offering computer appointments at select locations Tuesdays through Saturdays. This service is available in addition to curbside pickup and returns. Patrons can schedule a one-hour computer appointments by calling Customer Service at (916) 264-2920 or (800) 209-4627. Face coverings are required at all times for anyone two years or older (see CDC Guidlines) If you cannot wear a face-covering during your visit, you are welcome to use our curbside service. Library cardholders can schedule a one-hour computer appointment by calling Customer Service at (916) 264-2920 or (800) 209-4627. A library card number is required to complete your reservation. If you do not have a library card, you may request one online or call (800) 209-4627 for assistance. You may schedule up to 2 computer appointments per week. When are computer appointments available? One-hour computer appointments are available Tuesdays through Saturdays at select library locations. Appointment times at most locations are 10:30 a.m. / noon / 2 p.m. / 3:30 p.m. / 4:30 p.m. Special hours for seniors and those with chronic conditions or who are immunocompromised are available on Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Appointments at Isleton, Nonie Wetzel Courtland and Walnut Grove are available at 1:30 p.m. / 3 p.m. / 5 p.m. Special hours for seniors and those with chronic conditions or who are immunocompromised are available on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. What can I expect when I visit the library for my appointment? At this time, the library is offering limited services with reduced contact to help slow the spread of COVID-19 including computer appointments and curbside pickup and returns. Please be advised that a few things have changed to help reduce contact and slow the spread of COVID-19. Public health and safety is our priority. Here are some things to know before your appointment. Thank you for following our safety guidelines and for your patience: Face coverings are required at all times for anyone two years or older (see CDC Guidlines) We are practicing social distancing – observe all signage and markers Libraries will have limited occupancy and seating to ensure proper social distancing Library visits are limited to one hour per patron Hand-sanitizing stations are provided for use before entering High touch surfaces will be disinfected regularly Frequent handwashing is encouraged Arrive promptly. Appointments may be held for up to 15 minutes past the start time Please arrive promptly for your appointment and check in with library staff to enter the building. We can hold your appointment for up to 15 minutes past the start time. After that time, computer use and browsing will be available on first come first served basis. Library staff will remind you when the final ten minutes of your computer time remains. Only one person can enter the building per each appointment. If you need to make special arrangements due to childcare or an accompanying caregiver, please contact the library at (916) 264-2920. If you arrive at the library with additional persons without previous arrangements, we will need to reschedule your appointment. Please know that there will be limits on the number of people in the library and how you can use the library. The safety and health of our patrons and staff is our priority. Yes. And to reduce contact, printing during your appointment is free of charge. Learn more about mobile printing. Can I make a computer appointment if I have outstanding fines? Yes. You may still make an appointment and we will override the fines. Please call Customer Service (800) 209-4627 for assistance. What happens if I am late for my computer appointment? We can hold your appointment for up to 15 minutes past the start time. After that time, computer use and browsing will be available on first come first served basis. You may still take advantage of your appointment if you arrive within 15 minutes of your start time, however, your appointment end time will remain the same. Please let us know if you would like to schedule a new appointment. Can I return materials at any time? Patrons can return library materials during our hours of operation in the designated bin. Book drops are also available 24/7 at select locations. Returned items will be placed in quarantine for 96 hours and will not be checked in immediately. Items may take up to a week to be removed from your account. Can I drop off donated materials? The library is not accepting donations at this time. Will computer appointments be available at all library locations? We are working to expand this service to as many branches as soon as possible and in a safe, coordinated and phased effort. When will all in-person library services and full public access to library facilities resume?
