While Thanksgiving celebrations are going to be more muted than normal in 2020, no doubt there will be plenty of feasts prepared. And when feasts are prepared, ingredients are sometimes forgotten. If you need some last-minute cranberry sauce or whipped cream on Thanksgiving, there are plenty of grocery stores in the Philadelphia area that will be open for your last-minute shopping needs. In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving. Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company's goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free." Here are the hours for some eastern Pennsylvania grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day 2020, along with a list of those that won't. Acme Markets: Most stores open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.CVS: Most stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. Giant Food: Most Giant Food stores will be open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thanksgiving.McCaffrey's Food Markets: All stores will be open 6 a.m.-2 p.m.Redner's: Most stores will be open 6 a.m.-10 p.m.Rite Aid: The majority of stores will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm hours.ShopRite: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.Walgreen's: Most locations will be open regular hours but most pharmacies will be closed.Wegman's: Stores will be open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Massachusetts locations will remain closed.Weis Markets: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.Whole Foods: Hours vary by location.
