A Good Friday Offering Olga Perez Flora, mezzo-soprano Maxine Thévenot, piano The Very Rev’d Kristina Ann Maulden, speaker Cuban-American mezzo-soprano Olga Perez Flora and Director of Cathedral Music Canon Dr. Maxine Thevenot collaborate to present ‘The Confession Stone’. The Very Rev’d Kristina Maulden, Dean of the Cathedral, will offer a spoken-word meditation as part of this 30-minute presentation marking the crucifixion. The Confession Stone is an 18-minute cycle of songs written by the Canadian composer Robert Fleming to words by the American poet Owen Dodson. These are songs of Mary – the mother of Jesus. They are the poet’s conception of Mary’s thoughts about herself and others on that hard stone of confession on which most of us kneel at some time in our lives.
