Jacqui Patterson will be shedding light on climate risk as faced by Freedmen's Settlements in the US - many of which are unincorporated areas, which deprives them of resources and infrastructure, putting them at differential risk for climate impacts. Jacqui will talk about three of the settlements The Chisholm Legacy Project is working in, including Sandbranch, TX, and will discuss both the challenge and the imperative for community climate development. This is a call to action in support of Freedmen's Settlements in building capacity toward self-determination and climate resilience.
